Why Angry Bill?
I’m not really angry. “Angry” is just a metaphor. For anybody that has listened to a talk radio show, especially a sports one, you know that talk show hosts and callers can be opinionated, controversial, and many times humorously ignorant and/or naive. The Real Angry Bill is not me, Bill Burke the JBoss engineer, but a famous caller on WEEI 850am sports talk radio in Boston. Pathologically incoherent he is infamous for being annoying, always negative with “mood swings that rival Manny Ramirez’s home run swings.”
I picked “Angry Bill” because most of the time my opinions are about as valuable to the Java community as a talk radio caller’s opinion. I wanted readers to know that even though some of my blogs and posts on public sites like TheServerSide.com are passionate, flaim baiting, and even abrasive, that I don’t take myself or my opinions very seriously. I do like a heated debate now and then, so don’t be scared to start one up here or any other site you see me posting. Yeah, I might get pissed off and in the heat of the moment say things I’ll regret, but thats the whole fun of it isn’t it?
